Do you like to sing?

The Ithachords welcomes men who enjoy singing to come and sing with us. There is no audition to pass, and no previous performance experience is needed. All that is needed is a love of singing. Music reading skills are always helpful, but not essential. If you have a good ear and can sing a musical phrase after hearing it a few times, you'll do just fine! The four voice parts range from very low to very high and special attention will be given to matching you with a voice part that is comfortable.

The Ithachords meet four times a year to learn new songs and tags, revisit pieces we haven't sung in a while, combine into pick-up quartets, and have fun enjoying food and each others' musicianship.

Sheet music and audio learning tracks for our "featured song" are available prior to each open house and we encourage everyone to get a head start learning the music. If you are new to barbershopping and don't which of the four parts is best suited to your voice, please call our music director (Don Lebow, (607) 216-7153) and he will assist you choosing the right voice part.

The date for the next Open House is May 8 from 3–7 p.m. at Kendal at Ithaca, 2230 North Triphammer Road. The full 2011season is posted here: Ithachords Calendar

Please give us a call. We'd love to meet you and introduce you to our hobby! We will be glad to answer any questions you may have and to help you in any way we can.
